Week 6 - Moodboard Refinement, Audio Sourcing and prototype building.
Finalising the moodboard
After some additional feedback, I changed the moodboard for the fourth time to resemble something that can be done in a college environment along with the resources available. I will try to build my prototype with the following design references around the beta build.
Audio Sourcing
I did some concept testing with friends and found that they responded best to a cute robotic grunts that reflect emotion more than words. Which I think fits well based off my reference and research of Wall-E.

Prototype Building
I spent time polishing up the prototype and soldering on the wires unto the motor shield and battery supply. The only parts remaining that require installation are the micro servos and the ultrasonic sensor. After that its all up to testing whether the batteries are capable of supplying the entire prototype.
Sketches for visual
For the rough sketch I wanted it to look cute and adorable but also robotic in nature, seeing how many of the designs for these mini homemade robots looked I decided to go for a box like appearance on tracks or feet with a smiley face to spread love and positivity. The arms I added on to give it a more childish and adorable appearance when moving around although I'm unsure of whether or not I intend to have them installed.
Self Reflection - Moodboard
I'm quite pleased with the moodboard's outcome, I decided to look at homemade physical self driving artefacts that had a more simple design yet shouts cuteness and pleasing aesthetics. I'll be most likely referring to this specific moodboard as my final moodboard to sketch out and build my visual outlook for the physical artefact.
Self Reflection - Audio Sourcing
It didn't take long for me to find a simple yet fun and perfect audio source that fits well to what I'm looking for. The sound should sound organic but robotic as well, not too intrusive and more on the fun side that reflects emotions more than saying a line of words. The concept test proved that people were willing to treat objects that create these audios more like pets than an actual talking robot.
