Week 4 - Prototyping

Week 4 - Prototyping

By week 4 I focused more on prototyping than actual research, after understanding how Vector worked and spending around 2 weeks studying its behaviour and design. Besides updating the problem statement, insight, and adding a purpose statement, not much to change regarding the other segments of the title. I've updated the moodboard to fit a more suitable style that is more simple and accommodates what resources I have available. I'm confident enough to continue the prototype by combining all the parts together with the code.

I spent the week on building the prototype and deciding on what features would be best implemented and how to make the prototype function. Below is a setup on how and what parts I sourced for the creation of the prototype.

Parts Installed

The Chassis - I managed to build the entire chassis of the robot in a week, its taking longer than I had planned for this to be done and I haven't even added in the other parts for the robot. I'll need to consider spending more time in the fablab to properly finish this prototype on time. I also need to worry about the wires and soldering, I haven't really soldered much in the past 2 years and I'm afraid it'll render me inexperienced when I go back to soldering for the robot's parts.

Self Reflection - Prototype
The building of the prototype was very time consuming, after 2 weeks of building in the fablab and I'm not even close to getting it done. I realised I should change my Gantt Chart to reflect the time to build a physical artefact. So far there aren't any problems with building and attaching the parts together.
