Week 1 Progress Update - Briefing for the entire subject

Week 1 - Briefing and Research 


The first week of the subject was spent being briefed about where/how to begin the project. We are briefed to create a Gantt Chart, A Learning Plan, a Do Good Proposal, along with a Blog to easily document my progress. 

Learning Plan

I started off with the Learning Plan, its for me to be able to gauge my skills, personality, and how I plan to proceed throughout the entire project.




Gantt Chart


The Gantt Chart in particular was one of trickiest parts of the project to do, due to the scale of the project I needed to do more research regarding the selected topic before I could move on further with the Gantt Chart.


Do Good Proposal

The idea for the start of the project is to create a cute robot that would help spread positivity.

I started out with Secondary Research since it was the easiest task to accomplish, looking up websites, articles, and research about what mental health statistics and what it meant to the people of Malaysia.

There was effort put into searching for references and ideas relating towards cute robot designs that have a function in the world.

Self Reflection - Project Planning
I'm having trouble planning out the Gantt Chart for my entire project, the prototyping phase and testing phase is difficult the plan out for physical project due to the technicalities and problems involved. Feedback from the lecturer is that I should plan for failures in the Gantt Chart, I'll spend some time referencing other project timeframes and planning.

Self Reflection - Learning Plan
The learning plan was easy for me to finish, this is attributed to the fact that I already know what I want to/plan to do.

Self Reflection - Idea
Idea wise I have no doubt I'll manage with it, I just need to do research and practice enough. Most important is to never stop learning and always asking the right questions. I think for week 2 I'll start with a physical prototype by sourcing the materials for building the prototype of the artefact.

Week 15 - 3D Printing the visuals, assembling all the circuits. Printing the visuals I did a test print with the Ultrasonic Sensor Part first, outcome was more or less decent. Test printing the sizing for the Ultrasonic Sensor. Fitting the Ultrasonic Sensor onto the test print. I've also done some test prints of the outline for the entire visual but nothing much has been done to print it yet, I'll try to do additional test prints for the sizing and print them overnight.
