Week 2 Progress Update - Idea Refinement and Data Collection
Week 2 - Refining and Collecting
The second week was effectively a data collecting week, with interviews, planning, and refinement of Week 1's work.
Data Collection/Compilation
Interview
I decided to start off Week 2 with proper primary research for my demographics, which are people from the age of 18 - 30. I've also removed the research regarding mental health and changed it to positivity so that it will be easier in the long run for me to stay focused on one topic instead of a large scale topic like mental health.
I crafted questions regarding how positivity relates to interviewee's and how interviewee's feel about spreading positivity, before moving on to how technology and robots could be a means to helping them.
I managed to interview a total of 5 individuals by this week and plan to interview more. For now I have managed to compile some data from the interviewee's.

One hiccup for this data collection was the fact that I did not include was a question about how interviewee's would feel or do when they are positive, and what sort of transformation of personality or life do they have when it occurs. I will add this questions in future interviews for new interviewee's.
The following problem statements and insights are removed due to lack of relatability to the topic and will be replaced with an updated version by Week 3.
The problem statements and insights needed to be changed because it doesn't link to the idea of building a robot that spreads positivity.
Moodboard Design for Robot Idea
The aesthetics for the robots design is to be as cute as possible while giving it as many useful interactions for the users. Hence I created this moodboard as a reference on what to do for the design.

Physical Prototype Planning
For the prototype planning I've managed to discover a tutorial while also acquiring the parts for building a simple self driving prototype. I hope to finish this prototype as soon as possible.
I've also found an online tutorial on how to build the prototype self driving robot, so I aim to finish this prototype as early as possible.

Based off my research and what I've found, it is quite difficult to link the Research to the Idea of the project. For instance the Insight isn't strong enough to find a problem statement, judging from this and with additional feedback from the lecturer the best option would be to do additional interviews to find a stronger insight and problem statement. Stronger data is required to link the Research with the Idea.
Self Reflection - Physical Prototype
I'm slightly concerned regarding the physical prototype, on one end I know I have the skills to create a visually pleasing physical artefact, but on the other hand my coding skills is weak . These are the reasons why I decided to start building a prototype as early as possible.
