Week 14 - Circuit Building/Testing, Audio, Code Polishing, and Visual Design. Mounting the Chassis of the robot Not much to take notes on what has been done regarding the technicalities of the robot. I managed to use the laser cutting machine to cut a piece of wooden board and mounting the circuits, chassis and parts onto it. I've managed to incorporate the battery to work with the entire circuit while the circuits were mounted on the board. The process of mounting the parts. I started by dismantling the prototype while salvaging the parts that I can use for the final project. After that I began working with a simple wooden base that will emulate the size of the robot that I wanted, I then started attaching the L298N Motor Shield and Motors with tracks. Finally I attached the circuitry like Speakers, Breadboard, and the Battery into the whole build. The body of the robot with the Motor Servo attached. Power being supplied from the battery. Mounting the parts onto the board. The s...

Week 13 - Circuit Building/Testing, Audio, Code Polishing, and Visual Design. Circuit Building/Testing Countless trial and errors have led me to a solution for the battery holder casing. I followed Ron's advice and printed out a sleeve and a proper scale for the holder of the battery, this all worked flawlessly and held the battery well.  Ron demonstrated how the sleeve would work with the foam and copper tape which will act as a conductor to power the entire circuit. I tested the durability of the holder over and over, the battery worked as intended and I am happy with the outcome. Failed Outcomes I hooked up the battery to the entire circuit and it powers 12V's throughout the entire circuitry, with the Ultrasonic Sensor, MP3 Player, and Motors working fine. I've checked the power and the entire circuitry is able to accommodate more circuitry and parts which I plan to hopefully add in as time goes on. Finally I plan to redo the entire track section by making my own bra...

Week 12- Battery Fitting/Testing, Change of Plans, and Audio testing.

Week 12 - Battery Fitting/Testing, Audio testing and  Change of Plans. Fitting the battery After printing out the 3D casing for the battery holder, I started the testing it by attaching copper tapes to the edges and layering them, it worked for some time but was not a reliable method. I attempted to secure the copper tape on the positive side since that was the one that had the least connection and thus not powering the entire device. The connection broke as I added more copper tape and in the end I had to change my plans for the entire project. Audio Testing Testing the audio setup I've come to the conclusion that the MP3 player is properly setup but the issue lies most likely that the MP3 player isn't registering the SD card or that the SD card doesn't have the correct file format since I'm using a Mac to upload the audio. I'll have to bring a USB with me next time to test out the design. Change of Plans I scrapped the servo idea along with the electret microphone...
